As in the official games, Zero acquires new techniques by defeating one of the main 8 bosses. Unlike X's Weapons these techniques do not consume ammunition, instead requiring special inputs from the user akin to a fighting game. These "special techniques" can be further enhanced via spending points on the requisite section of their independent skill trees. Techniques requiring the saber generally use the primary attack button, whereas those not requiring the saber are generally on secondary attack. As Zero is a massive weeb, his technique names are in Japanese.

Zero pauses mid-air and throws an electric chain forward that can grab onto surfaces and pull Zero to them. If the chain connects with an enemy, it causes the enemy to be stunned for a short time and allow Zero to pass through unharmed, and pulls Zero forward to follow up with more attacks.
