As in the official games, Zero acquires new techniques by defeating one of the main 8 bosses. Unlike the Special Weapons that X gains, these techniques do not consume ammunition, instead requiring special inputs from the user akin to a fighting game. These "special techniques" can be further enhanced via spending points on the requisite section of their independent skill trees. Techniques requiring the saber generally use the primary attack button, whereas those not requiring the saber are generally on secondary attack. As Zero is a massive weeb, his technique names are in Japanese.

Skill Trees

Each techniques has their own independent skill tree adjacent to Zero's main skill trees. The upgrades are mainly about the technique's efficiency, properties, number of times it can be activated, or new methods to execute the technique.
