The crystals persist for a short time and can reflect energy weapons, absorb a small amount of explosive damage, and cause damage to enemies. These can be used both defensively and to increase the damage of Zero's combo.

Choujin (跳刃 in Japanese, lit. Bounce Blade) is one of Zero's techniques, received from defeating Plasma Puffer. While dashing, Zero launches a spinning projectile bubble that can ricochet off of enemies or surfaces. As Zero's only ranged attack, this move is especially useful for small enemies when his usual high damage output is not needed.
