In MegaMan X: Corrupted, almost all areas are connected through a contiguous world map, which is accessible from the Hunter Base after beginning the main game.
Intro Areas
These are the intro stages for X and Zero. These stages will not be accessible (at least in the same form) after being beaten.
Main Maverick Hunter Airship (X Intro Stage)
X's introductory stage is the Maverick Hunter's Airship, which has come under attack by a mysterious new foe named Strike.
Underground Facility (Zero's Intro Stage)
Zero's introductory stage is a mysterious underground lab. Awakening in this strange location after the events of MegaMan X5, Zero soon finds himself fighting his way out, though the exit is guarded by a foe who may be more familiar than Zero realizes.
TBD (Synthia's Intro Stage)
Synthia is not important and may or may not get an introductory stage. Oh well.
Island Regions
These are the neutral areas that connect to each of the main stages. Certain paths will be blocked off and require certain Mavericks to be defeated to progress.
Temporary Maverick Hunter Outpost
Following the events in X's intro stage, the Hunters' Main Airship is rendered unusable. As a result, operations on the mysterious island will have to be coordinated from a makeshift outpost. The main base is where most of the supporting cast reside and can be intereacted with. Additionally, it is a place where further information regarding available missions can be acquired and X and/or Zero can reset their skills in Wave's lab should it be deemed necessary. By finding various materials throughout the island for Guin to unpackage and sort, the base may undergo further development and evolve into quite the formidable base of operations.
Steelpine Forest
The Steelpine Forest is the locale to the immediate west of the Hunters' temporary outpost, and will be the first area encountered in the main game. A variety of robotic flora and fauna have been infected by the Maverick Virus, and will be need to be taken care of along the way.
Pitfall Passage
The "pitfall passage" as it has come to be known by some is the entrance to a vast cave system that spans a sizable amount of the island. The terrain here is treacherous, and care should be taken not to lose your footing.
Flooded Cavern
The flooded cavern is the entry point to nearby aquatic biomes. Normally less flooded (or at least flooded in a different configuration), something or someone is responsible for the current state of the area.
Collapsed Highway
High above the Steelpine Forest is an intricate network of roads and highways created to support a once booming city in the sky. However, in more recent times, the highway has been largely abandoned. What few reploids remained in the area have been greatly affected impact of a particularly large object falling from the sky, with debris being scattered across what remains of the once pristine transit system.
Primary Stages
Each of these areas act as a traditional "stage," each with their own gimmicks, theme songs, minibosses, and Maverick. After reaching the beginning of each one, as well as at the middle point of each stage, you will activate a Transfer Station that will allow fast travel between other Transfer Stations, including the one at the Hunter Outpost.
Forgotten Pipeworks (Plasma Puffer Stage)
A long forgotten vestige of an earlier time, these pipeworks are now the playground of the renegade Plasma Puffer. Upon entering, Puffer has disabled the pumps and the player must navigate through the vast water control facility and re-activate the massive water level regulation pumps in order to reach Puffer. There are four pumps in total, and although Puffer himself is kind of a pushover, navigating the strange plasma tunnels without his flexible disposition might prove hazardous and confusing. Should the corrosive plasma make its way into the greater island ecosystem, it will have negative affects on both the robotic wildlife, and in the case of the Maverick threat, render their power cores damaging to harvest energy from in the field.
Infested Junkyard (Neurohack Mosquito Stage)
A particularly disgusting and loosely held together pile of scrap known as the island's junkyard is where Neurohack Mosquito makes his home. A formerly-vagabond virologist, Mosquito has dedicated his life to the study of viruses, both biological and electronic. As a result of his reckless experimentation, a good portion of the discarded trash and processing machinery have taken on minds of their own. Should his experiments be allowed to continue, Mosquito's virus-based enhancements may begin spreading throughout the island, affecting the physical prowess and possibly the mental capacity of those who are affected. It would be wise to curtail his research where possible.
Power Station (Sparking Scorpio Stage)
The main power station for the island, this facility regulates the energy for everything from the lights in the labs to the elevators in the Hunters' temporary base. Needless to say, it's a valuable target for any who would wish to impede the Hunter's operations here. There's a variety of security systems in place to prevent violent takeovers of the systems, but it looks like the station's manager, Sparking Scorpio has gone mad with power, so to speak. His circuits are reading as dangerously overloaded, and it seems like both the defense and the power regulation systems have gone haywire with him.
Crystal Mines (Crystal Rafflar Stage)
The energen crystal mines on this island have been largely stripped of any useful material, but it would appear that a new mixture of crystalline and organic material has taken root there. Archaic mining rigs might serve to help the player reach further into the mines, but they're relatively fragile given their advanced age and past a certain point they won't be of any use regardless due to the complex crystal maze that's begun entangling the mining zone. Still, it's definitely worth investigating the strange affect that Crystal Rafflar's new gardening project has had on the place before it gets out of hand.
Weapons Factory (Warfare Milodon Stage)
Formerly inactive, the Weapons Factory is a dangerous location now that it is churning out weapons built under Warfare Milodon's guidance. Filled with long stretches of molten steel in the first half of the area, vats and other machinery work hard to transport material to be used in the production of weapons. The second half after facing the Giga Incinerator holds countless under construction and completed weapon systems alike, many of which explode if tampered with. If left alone, Milodon's machinations might prove extremely dangerous given his propensity towards lending radical groups high grade military explosives.
Sea Wreckage (Force Starfish Stage)
The Sea Wreckage is where the Hunters Airship fell after everyone evacuated, and Force Starfish is searching for the ship's core for a bounty by someone unknown. The sea itself is explored in the first half of the stage, being filled with underwater caves and fish-themed mechaniloids, with parts of the airship spread through it. The second half is inside the abandoned airship, which is being guarded by the Giga Kraken. As Force Starfish continues to scavenge the ships' parts for profit, other actors on the island may find what Starfish offers to be of particular use in upgrading various Giga-class mechaniloids.
Cyber Lab (Warp Vulpex Stage)
Warp Vulpex's lab is something to behold on a good day, but it would seem that the experiments warping physical objects through digital space have wreaked havoc on the place. Though Vulpex's personal guards/assistants would ideally have the anomalies contained, it would appear that the Maverick virus infestation on the island has begun affecting them as well.
